When I first heard about Doterra, I quickly looked the other way. I mean let’s be real. There are so many people that sell their products through social media and I just wasn’t interested in placing any orders or connecting with them. The word “oil” just wasn’t part of my vocabulary. I definitely don’t consider myself an all-natural mom so the answer was no. Until, I was desperate for answers when it came to my children.
My children are everything to me and when they are not feeling great or are having a hard time with something, I try everything that is in my reach to solve the problem. It’s just a mom thing. I remember my sweet Hailey had a terrible cough and because of her age, they weren’t able to give her any medication. She was up all night and I knew it was just a matter of time before the other babies got sick, too. Coughs always seem to stay a while for my kids. We started to miss weeks of gymnastics, swimming, and time with friends. I tried so many different home remedies but nothing was working.
I was then approached by my MIL (mother-in-law) about trying some oils. She never asked me to buy anything from her. Instead, she was trying to do everything to help me. She came over numerous times to drop off oils and tried to figure out what would work best for the kids. To my surprise, we were able to find something that actually worked!
We all have different experiences with oils and I really wanted to share mine because it’s real. If you’re on the fence, maybe my experience will help you in making the decision to try them.
Now, let me be real.
It’s a lifestyle. With that being said, it’s not for everyone. Think about it as changing your eating habits. It’s just not for everyone. You may not like healthy food choices or exercising. Well, this is kind of the same thing. I can tell you right now, some don’t like the smell of some of the oils. Others just don’t have the patience to use them. And for some it’s just plain confusing.
But with anything in the world, do your research and see if it’s something that you could benefit from.
Now, that I’ve told you how I started getting into my oil journey let me tell you a little bit about why I’ve decided to stay.
The number one reason I enjoy using essential oils is because the possibilities are truly endless. I can use them for anything and that makes me happy. It’s like a security blanket. I know that whatever my family needs, I can always count on my oils. They can be used for cooking, cleaning, DIY projects, and even for your health. Overall, I love that I can create a natural environment for my family and I can’t put a price on that. Oh, and did I mention my kids absolutely love them.
Also, I think I was lucky enough to be surrounded by support. There is a big difference between someone trying to sell you something for a paycheck, and someone who is genuinely interested in helping you.
