With the 4th of July being just around the corner, it’s time to get some red, white, and blue ideas prepared for the day.
Growing up, Independence Day was always a day of celebration. Whether we were at Jones Beach in Long Island, or home having a BBQ. It was a day we had to prepare for.
Well, now we have our children to celebrate with and it’s our turn to prepare for this amazing day!
So why not make our own popsicles for the kids to enjoy? My kids LOVE popsicles. It’s the go-to snack if they have been good or if we just want to surprise them with a treat. We hesitate when we buy popsicles at the store though because it’s just sugar. With our kids being so small, they should not be having that much sugar. So it’s our job to find healthier alternatives. Well, here’s one that’s just genius!
We decided to make our own red, white, and blue popsicles this year. No added sugar, easy to make, and the kids think they look so cool.
When I say they are easy to make, I mean it. All you need is 3 ingredients and you can definitely play around with this recipe to make it your own.
…Yup, that’s it!
- You want to begin by slicing up the strawberries into small pieces so they can fit into the molds.
- Pour the coconut water into a container. Drop in the strawberries and blueberries and allow the flavors to mix for a couple of hours.
- When ready, pour the mix into the molds. Close them tight and place into the freezer overnight.
- Before announcing to the kids that they are ready, you will need to give yourself several minutes for the popsicles to sit on the counter. This will allow them to easily come out of the molds.
