I went to the store the other day and saw that they had recently changed their back to school section into the Halloween/Fall section. Well, it had me thinking about our home and how we are definitely not prepared for Fall. Every year we struggle to keep up with the different seasons and holiday decor. It seriously feels as if we are just throwing away money because as soon as we decorate for fall, we have to quickly take everything down and decorate for Halloween. I love being festive but at what cost?
So this year I am determined to decorate with a purpose. Not only do I want to decorate for fall but I want my decorations to stay up throughout Thanksgiving.
This DIY decor is so simple and really fun to do with friends and family. Hailey and I spent an afternoon decorating pumpkins and I knew then that I wanted to put some around the house.
Here’s how to get these super cute pumpkins decorated for the new season.
Gold- Bling on a roll
- Begin by cutting the gold roll so that it fits just right around the pumpkin. Place glue in the center of the pumpkin and start putting down the gold roll. Take your time so that the roll is centered and even.
- Next, create a swirl or any other shape or design that you would like on the pumpkin and place the sequins on top. Be careful as the glue gets very hot so you may want to wait a couple of seconds before placing the sequins on. For this fall look, I decided to use darker colors such as green, red, and orange sequins.
- Lastly, make a few dots around the designs and place sequins on the dots to add a bit more life to the pumpkin. Have fun with this and make sure to add a little bit of your special touch to each pumpkin.
