I just LOVE Starbucks. The problem is, I can drop nearly $10 easy when I stop in for a quick snack and coffee. Do this a couple of times per week and you are talking about a pretty hefty coffee habit! Of course, I do drink some coffee at home, but I don’t want to give up my Starbucks completely! Good thing there are some pretty clever ways to save on your caffeine fix at Starbucks and lucky for you, I am about to share them with you too!
Order an Americano. It’s cheaper than a cup of regular brewed coffee and as an added bonus has a bigger caffeine boost too.
Split with your friend. Did you know that a venti sized drink is the same as 2 tall sized drinks? If you order a Venti frappuccino and an extra cup, you’ll pay just $6.40. If you were to both order a tall frappuccino, it would total about $10.60! That’s a huge savings, and I am sure your friend will appreciate your savvy-sense!
Grab a cheap refill before you go! If you enjoy your coffee inside Starbucks, make sure to snag a $.50 refill before you leave! This offer is available for regular coffee or tea, but none of your fun and fancy drinks. Some locations are also offering refills for free.
BYOC! If you use your own cup, you’ll get $.10 off of your drink purchase. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but those dimes add up! They also sell a cup specifically for this program, and it’ll cost you a buck. I always keep mine in my car. Instead of tossing your coffee cup after your Starbucks fix, take it home and wash it out OR Starbucks will clean it for you with a boiling-water rinse before each refill.
Don’t pay extra for the milk if you want an iced latte. Instead, order a triple espresso in a venti cup over ice. Then, fill it with milk yourself at the condiment bar. You’ll save almost 50% on your drink total!
Have a birthday drink – on them! Starbucks Rewards members get a free drink on their birthday, as well as when you collect “stars” throughout the year for each purchase you make. There are lots of opportunities to score your drink “on the house” as a member! Not a member? Sign up HERE for free and they’ll even give you a free drink to welcome you to the program!
And of course, you can make some of your coffee investment back if you buy Starbucks beans, by bringing in your empty coffee bean bags to exchange for a free tall hot or iced coffee!
